DC Vlaanderen
3000
Realizing sand and gravel discharge with total solutions from Machinefabriek Stokman
Efficiency and reliability are of the utmost importance in dredging operations. At the time of the construction of the DC Vlaanderen 3000, Stokman was involved in designing a unique unloading system for a dredger.
Our expertise in the field of bulk handling systems proved to be a breakthrough, resulting in a system that fully met the customer’s wishes and needs.
The system designed by the Stokman machine factory consists of a mobile excavator and a conveyor belt system that can unload up to 4,500 tons of dry bulk material per hour.
The challenge: achieving a short unloading time
Slow systems lead to long unloading times, significant delays and high additional costs. This is detrimental to the efficiency of the entire sand and gravel supply process.
Solution: Stokman Machine Factory
Throughout the project, Machinefabriek Stokman worked closely with the original owner of the ship. Our engineers carried out a thorough analysis of the existing unloading systems. Based on this, we identified the areas for improvement and were able to recommend the most suitable solutions. This collaborative approach ensured that the project fit seamlessly with the client’s unique needs and requirements. The unloading system that operates on the “DC Vlaanderen 3000” is not only suitable for new-build ships, but can also be installed on existing dredgers or pontoons. This offers shipping companies the opportunity to modernize their fleet without purchasing new ships.
The combination of speed, efficiency and flexibility makes Machinefabriek Stokman’s sand and gravel unloading systems a valuable addition to the maritime sector and ports. They not only ensure fast unloading times, but also guarantee high reliability, which is essential for the demanding conditions at sea.
Increased efficiency and reliability
This impressive speed translates into significant productivity gains and shorter unloading times, optimizing dredging and transport operations. In addition, the exceptionally reliable system keeps downtime to a minimum, ensuring a constant supply of materials and lower costs.
